About MeJames VI was the first monarch to issue coins in both Scotland and England.

The profusion of different types is confusing but the quality of workmanship is outstanding. This can be seen on the ten-shilling piece from James's seventh coinage (1593 - 1601) which features a half length portrait of the King.
