About MeThis comb was for combing sheep wool. Wool combers in a woollen mill used it. A woollen mill is a factory where wool was turned into thread and then cloth. Two combs were used together. Sheep wool was gently and carefully pulled through the combs. This helped clean the wool. But more importantly it gradually pulled wool into long fibres. The long fibres were made into thread. It was skilled, dusty work mostly done by men.
