About MeBlack silk day dress worn in Tayside during the second part of the 1860s. A one piece dress with fitted bodice and full skirt gathered into deep pleats around the waist band. The skirt is also tightly gathered across the back waist, anticipating the bustle fashions. The square yoke of the bodice is trimmed in fashionable style with black narrow satin ribbon and tassles.
