About MeSun tans came in to fashion in the 1920s and swimsuit designs adapted to facilitate sun tanning as the decade progressed.

This wool swimsuit has a deep v-neck and is also cut away next to the straps on the back to provide an even tan.

The legs are covered with a modesty skirt.

It was sold by the Aberdeen department store Esslemont & Mackintosh.
