About MeFull-length red velvet bridesmaid's dress with sleeveless fitted bodice, displayed with a red velvet muff and red elbow length gloves.

Dating to 1955 this luxurious ensemble shows that wedding fashions of the time followed those for elegant eveningwear. Strong colours were also in vogue for bridesmaid fashion. The outfit was made for the donor at Isaac Benzie's in Aberdeen and worn to a wedding at Queen's Cross Church.
