About MeThis dress was worn by an Aberdeen bride to her wedding on the 3rd of August, 1927. The reception was held at the Palace Hotel, Aberdeen.
This wedding dress follows the very fashionable 'flapper' style that was popular in evening wear of the period. Dresses often featured apron-like tunics, overdresses or overskirts and had a low, almost non-existent waistline. Scalloped, petal-edged skirts, like the one on this dress, were also popular, as were asymmetrical trimmings and drapings.
