About MeCoins issued by Elizabeth I of England are of interest because of their great variety which includes the first machine-struck coins to be minted in England (none had yet been struck in Scotland).This Elizabethan sixpence is similar to that which was found, quite by chance, along with the medieval pennies of one of the Aberdeen city-centre hoards of 1807.
