The iron has a polished steel base, while the body is made from cast iron with a wooden handle. The top of the iron attaching with three flat head screws, one at each corner. This section supports an inlet pipe which extends downwards towards the back of the iron at a 45 degree angle, where there is a rectangular opening to the hollow body. There is an internal screw thread at the uppermost end of this pipe.
The handle also rises from the back section of the iron and has a turned and shaped wooden handle and a curved metal guard underneath. The guard is inscribed "FLETCHER RUSSELL & CO. / WARRINGTON" in a circle with "LIMD. / PATENT" within.
At the front of the iron is an exhaust pipe, one side of which is inscribed "FLETCHER. RUSSELL & CO. LTD. / WARRINGTON MANCHESTER / & LONDON".
The metal tubing is coiled separately and has rubber attachments at both ends.
