About MeThis is a study for the figure of David in the oil painting 'David in the Wilderness' in the collections of the National Galleris of Scotland. The figure takes on a contraposto pose reminiscent of Michelangelo's David. He leans on his shepherd's crook, harp slung on his back rather than by his side. This results in a more relaxed attitude in comparison to the upright majestic figure that was actually used in the final composition (see abdag 3229).
