About MeLike Forfar and Montrose, Inverness made its first appearance as a mint town in 1250 striking pennies similar to those produced in Angus. GEFRAI is the only moneyer's name to appear on the Inverness pennies and it does not occur anywhere else. Unlike Forfar and Montrose, Inverness re-emerged as a mint location in the early 15th century during the reign of James I.
