About MeThese flints are some of the 297 mesolithic flints found during excavation at 45-59 The Green, Aberdeen. They formed a roughly circular scatter and were probably produced by a single flintworker over a short period of time.
Most of the flints derive from beach and river nodules. It would appear that only a small number of nodules were flaked on the site. All phases of production were present including core fragments (top), tools (centre) and flakes (bottom).
It would appear that the flintworker was maintaining or replacing hunting equipment in this area of The Green 8000 years ago. The worker may have come from a short term camp situated nearby.
