Gibb was one of the first designers to explore the possibilities of creating knitwear for eveningwear. Pairing this silk and lace skirt with a knitted cardigan gives a glamorous edge to what is usually considered daywear. Designing individual pieces, which can be worn together as part of a coordinating ensemble gives the wearer flexibility when choosing how to create their look. Bill often combined different materials in one outfit to create rich texture and interest; in this piece the signature Bee motif is subtly knitted into the cardigan.
