About MeKaffe's original concept for this collection was for crunchy textured cotton worked in an intricate diamond trellis pattern. However, economic constraints and technical problems when the knitwear was mass-produced led to a switch to a man-made fibre yarn. As a result much of the pattern and texture was lost.

The diamond theme is picked up in the permanent pressed pleating of the skirt and the thick lace edging trimming the smock jumper.
