About MeThis is a model of the passenger and cargo vessel St Helena. The vessel was built at the Hall Russell shipyard and launched in October 1989 for the Government of St Helena.

When "St Helena" was built, the Hall Russell shipyard was operating under the name A & P Appledore. Despite the takeover, business did not improve and St Helena (ship no. 1000) was not only the last vessel built at the yard but also in Aberdeen.

St Helena makes six round trips a year between the UK and St Helena. Prior to mid 2016, the South Atlantic island did not have an airstrip and the vessel delivered essential supplies. Once a year, St Helena also called at Tristan da Cunha.
