About MeThis notebook from the Hall Russell shipyard contains crests and flag designs for vessels built between 1890 and 1930. The company began shipbuilding in 1868; its output ranging from cargo vessels to steam trawlers. This variety is reflected in the notebook.

Designs include the Aberdeen Line crest for crockery aboard the steamer Thermopylae; Aberdeen Steam Navigation Company's logo for Hogarth's wash hand basins; the Northern Co-operative Society's house flag for the collier Thrift, and trawler funnel markings and house flags.

The museum also has notebooks containing Hall Russell engine and boiler designs. Few plans survive from this period and these books help build a picture of vessels built and also the yard's range of customers, both local and foreign.
