About MeA rather plain design for this late date featuring a view of King's College flanked by the value of the note in words. The central panel in red is a reminder that printing in more than one colour was now becoming standard on Scottish notes. In fact it had been introduced much earlier but had initially proved too expensive for most local banks.

A one-pound note issued by the North of Scotland Bank shortly before its amalgamation with the Aberdeen Town and County Bank.

A particularly interesting detail of this note is that it bears the signature of the well known artist James McBey who was on the staff of the North of Scotland Bank from 1899 until 1910.
