About MeBalmoral CastleJuly 16 1893
I write these lines to explain quite clearly why I think it best that you should give up the charge of the servants at Windsor.
It is found necessary that the person who has charge of the servants should always live there and not be absent half the year.
Now I know that your health would not stand continually living at Windsor and therefore I have thought it best that you should give it up and live here as you are doing now and looking after the fishing and anything else you might like to do. I wish you to have the title of (?) Highland Attendant by V. you continue in my service as before. Sir Henry Ponsonby will write to you about the Pension you will receive.
You and your family would come to Windsor now to arrange all your affairs and things and I wish you to hand over your books to Mr Tait under whom the person who has charge of the servants will be.
I prefer placing a single person/a retired (?...) to take charge of any(?) and things.

More About Me
Queen Victoria loved visiting Scotland. She had a Highland home at Balmoral Castle not far from Aberdeen. It was there that she met, and employed, the Brown family.
