Wooden bucket with metal bands (possibly a third missing) painted yellow and two metal handles either side. The churn consists of a metal cylinder and lid containing an asymmetrical paddle and topped by a removable metal brace which houses the handle.
The outside of the bucket has a small hole filled with a cork bung and is labelled "MACHINE TWO" with green adhesive plastic tape (the type commonly used circa 1980 with a mechanical or wheel label maker)and has "K1" carved into it.
The bottom of the metal cylinder is embossed "9N" and is labelled "MACHINE TWO" with green adhesive plastic tape (the same as before). The paddle has three vertical components all on the same side (two wooden and one metal). The paddle's shaft runs through the cylinder to rest in a seat in the base of the bucket and extends upwards through the lid to engage with the handle/mechanism. The lid has teeth which correspond to the bevel gear within the top section.
The top section has "THE ALBERT J&A Mc FG / CO" cast into it.
The mechanism does not currently work as there is a gap between the bevel gear and cylinder lid. It is unclear whether this is due to a missing component.
