About MeThis is the sign that was hung outside the door of the shop 'At The Sign of the Dial' in Warwick Street, London. It advertised the books and prints created at the Vale and Ballantyne Presses by Shannon, Charles Ricketts and Sturge Moore. It was purchased from Amarylis Robichaud, the widow of LLewellyn Hacon, a wealthy lawyer who had established The Vale Press with Shannon's friend Charles Ricketts in 1894. Situated in Warwick Street, Chelsea, The Vale Press published fine editions of English classics dating from the 16th century, including works by Milton, Blake and Rossetti.
