About MeThis Dynamic Positioning System is typical of those used in the North Sea and are carried on Offshore Supply Vessels like those in the harbour.

Dynamic positioning is used to maintain a precise station in the sea. Computers calculate the ship's position as well as current and wind conditions and then control the ship's thrusters to compensate for these effects.

This console was first installed on the Seaway Swan in 1977, and then transferred to the Tender Trout in 1980. It was used on board the Vestfonn from 1985 to 1998.
