About MeSoda lime canister used in closed circuit anaesthesia. The principle of closed circuit is that if sufficient oxygen is added to supply the blood's basal needs and carbon dioxide is absorbed [by a canister of soda lime] the same mixture of gases can be used repeatedly as it is exhaled unchanged.
