About MeCedric Morris was a keen gardener and his knowledge of plants enabled him to paint flowers with a remarkable degree of insight. Painted in thick impasto, the profusion of poppies and delphiniums has an almost jungle-like density. Morris was less interested in capturing a flower's beauty or its precise appearance than in attempting to convey its impression of vitality.More About Me
Morris was a keen plantsman and gardener, and this is clear in this picture. He tended to focus on capturing energy and colour rather than beauty and accuracy.
