About MeLeather doll of an unborn baby or foetus with umbilical cord in red and blue leading to placenta. Marked "Classroom A.M.H." (Aberdeen Maternity Hospital). This doll was used to teach midwives how to deliver babies at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital. It was used with a model of the pelvis or obstetric phantom. The foetal doll was positioned inside the box by the teacher. The trainee midwives would then have to determine the position of the foetus by examination and find out if cord was around the neck.
The doll is shorter by about 5 inches than a full-term baby and lighter than 7-7.5lbs.
