About MeThe sitter, Isaac Benzie, who founded his drapery business in 1894 at George Street, Aberdeen, was born in Oyne, Aberdeenshire, where he served his apprenticeship in the village general merchant's shop. Isaac Benzie opened bigger premises in Gallowgate, Aberdeen, and later opened a hosiery factory at Concert Court, Aberdeen, and founded branches throughout Aberdeen. The company was registered under the name of Isaac Benzie Ltd on 15 April 1922.

Isaac Benzie died in 1926 and his two sons, Athol and Isaac junior, carried on the business. In 1955 House of Fraser Ltd, took over the company and in 1972 the name of the store was change to Arnotts. By 1981 the store was trading as Frasers and continued trading under this name until its closure on 4 January 2003.
