About MeRobert Anning Bell was a painter and illustrator and also designed stained glass, mosaics coloured reliefs, as here and he also created mosaics for the Houses of Parliament and for the tympanum of Westminster Cathedral. He taught painting and design in University College, Liverpool, was Head of Design at Glasgow School of Art and also Professor of Design at the Royal Scottish Academy. Bell was elected a royal academician in 1922 and in 1923 was awarded an honorary degree from Glasgow University.
