About MeFire-surround placed in Christ's College by friends of the late Thomas Ogivie, hatmaker, to mark his work for the Church in Aberdeen. The surround holds a low-relief bronze plaque with bust of Thomas Ogilvie carrying artist's monogram "WB". Beneath the bust is an inscribed bronze plaque which reads "Thomas Ogilvie of Kepplestone 1844-1913. A benefactor of the College a strength to the Church in her hour of need a lover of the Kingdom of Christ. A generous citizen a loyal friend". And carved below this in oak "This memorial was placed here by friends who knew and loved him". Thomas Ogilvie was active in the period of the stabilistaion and growth of the Free Church of Scotland - See Gammie's book on Aberdeen's Churches with particular connections to Beechgrove, East, North and Gilcomston United Free Churches.
