About MeSandy Fraser studied at Gray's School of Art (1958-62) where he subsequently taught. He is best know today for his atmospheric compositions of people, architecture, landscapes, animals and birds - these are often inspired by memories of foreign travel - and for his work as a portraitist.
This study is one of a portfolio of 116 drawings made by the artist whilst on a travelling scholarship to Europe in 1964.
More About Me
Sketched by Fraser in the 1960's during his travel scholarship. On seeing this design icon for the first time, Italian industrialist Enrico Piaggio exclaimed: "Sembra una vespa!" ("It looks like a wasp!")
