About MeTrained as a bookbinder, Marguerite McBey only began to paint after the death of her husband, the Scottish artist James McBey, in late 1959. They had married in 1931 and their relationship had been a difficult one. However, the couple remained together for much of the twenty-eight years, dividing their time between New York, London and Morroco. This sketchbook features drawings and sketches on a variety of subjects, such as a still life with flowers, the airports at Tangiers and New York, market sellers and a copy of a watercolour by Andrew Wyeth.
