About MeThe steamship St Clair was built in 1937 at the Hall Russell shipyard, Aberdeen for the North of Scotland & Orkney & Shetland Steam Navigation Company. The vessel was requisitioned by the Admiralty in 1940 and acted as a rescue ship. St Clair returned to company service in 1946, taking up the direct service between Aberdeen and Lerwick. In 1960, the North Company's newly built vessel St Clair (III) came into service and St Clair (II) was renamed St Magnus. As St Magnus (IV), the vessel remained in company service until 1967 when it was sold for breaking up.
