The blouse is waist-length, back-fastening and features long inset sleeves and a high reinforced collar.
The blouse consists of sections of broderie anglaise and lace joined with scalloped seams of buttonhole stitch. The neck is reinforced with four wavy vertical sections of wire covered with white cotton thread.
Fastens up the back with 15 small white pearlised buttons and corresponding loops. There is a slender belt of white cotton tape attached to the back which fastens around the front with one hook and eye to give the blouse a gathered effect, as was fashionable at the time. Dated to 1905-1908.
