About MeYago Pericot is an important figure in the Spanish art world. He is not just a painter but also a theatre director, professor, scenographer and actor. He studied Philosophy and Literature from 1968-1970 at the University of Barcelona (as well as Psychology and Art History) and later came to develop in his art a very personal form of Pop Art.

Iago Pericot grew up in Spain during the Civil War and its aftermath. As a child, he witnessed the miseries of war and dealt with them by creating a fantasy world in which he could have fun despite the suffering. This childhood marked his life as an artist and resulted in many noted works, such as this suite of ten prints on the theme of an ironically titled 'poetic' war, which he created in 1967 for the Edinburgh Festival that year.
