About Me'Windstorm' may have been based on a rural location near Baintree, Essex. This engraving is an outstanding example of Ravilious' woodcut technique, with it's surety of cutting on the block and broken dashes and dots suggesting the splintering force of the elements. It shows how inspired Ravilious' wood cuts could be, when unfettered by the constraints of text in his illustration work.
