About MeCaptain Baillie, 18th century collector and etcher, owned several of Rembrandt's original copper plates which he re-printed. In addition, he made numerous etched copies of Rembrandt's prints. This is a faithful copy of Rembrandt's small landscape etching. The original is the same size, 8 x 17cm but with an arched top. It is possible that Baillie's plate was also arched but has been cut down.
