About MeThis bedspread is made from white cotton patches with an attached crochet lace border, cotton backing and embroidered decoration. The bedspread was made up by members of the congregation of St Cyrus, who paid a subscription of a shilling and a piece of cotton for it to be made. On its completion in 1902, the bedspread was presented to Dr. James Hastings, the Free Church minister at St Cyrus.
As well as featuring the date 'August 8th 1902' and 'James Hastings', there are approximately 106 names and 460 initials stitched on to the bedspread.
