About MeThis sherd of pottery was found during excavations at the Carmelite friary in Aberdeen. It was made in Scarborough between the mid-12th and 14th centuries and is the head and body of a medieval knight which would have decorated the outside of a jug.
The knight's face can be seen at the top left. The head and legs were the only parts of him which could be seen, as his body would have been covered with a shield. The shield would have been attached to one side of him and his other side to the jug.
