About MeThis pair of silver flagons was used for filling beakers and glasses during the communion services at St Clement's Church, in Footdee, Aberdeen. The church closed in May 1987.

The flagons are stamped on the base: B: James Dixon & Son: Sheffield: E: P: B: M: 924:8 (EPBM means Electro Plated Britannia Metal which was a speciallity of James Dixon & Sons.)

Dixon & Sons was established in 1806 in Silver Street, Sheffield by James Dixon in partnership with a Mr. Smith. The firm became James Dixon & Son (1823), James Dixon & Sons (1835c.) and James Dixon & Sons Ltd in 1920. London showrooms were opened in London (1873), Sidney and Melbourne (1912).
