About MeStone axe, ovoid in shape. Smooth black stone, although slight pitting caused by water. Part of the collection donated by Mr W.S. Bell in 1945. This large collection was assembled by his son, the late sub lieutenant JRS Bell RNVR who lost his life at sea in 1944 aged 17. Original accession number: 45.2.214/PRII F23
