About MeA Brief Record of the Advance of the Egyptian Expeditionary Force produced by the Government Press and Survey of Egypt. The book was compiled from original sources and published by the Palestine News. It documents the conquest of Palestine and Syria in 1917 and 1918, during the Sinai and Palestine Campaign led by General Edmund Allenby.

The book has a series of maps which document the advance through Philistia, advance into Judea, occupation of Jerusalem, advance into Mount Ephraim and Sharon, capture of Jericho, Amman raid, Es Salt raid, advance into Samaria, advance into Galilee, capture of Damascus, and the advance through Northern Syria.

James McBey has signed the title page.

This object is part of an archive that belonged to Marguerite McBey. As a result of her generosity, Aberdeen Art Gallery holds the largest archive of James McBey's work, including prints, drawings, sketchbooks, oil paintings and memorabilia such as this book.
