About MeEdgar has used two types of traditional enamelling to decorate this narrative piece. Cloisonné enamelling applies thin wires to form cells and Champlevé enamelling involves carving small pits from the surface of the metal. In each technique enamel is then fired in the cells or cavities. The pot depicts playful tortoiseshell cats on a background of orange and gold flecks with wisteria blooms in a frieze around the outside.
