About MeAll life in Marrakech centres on the Djemaâ El Fna - a vast open space where crowds assemble, goods are bought and sold, acrobats and musicians perform and snake charmers entertain the crowds. In this painting, the stalls, walls, roofs and shadows to the left form an almost abstract geometric pattern, yet the impression is given that we are atop the terrace overlooking this scene; the terracotta and pinks are washed with real sunshine, the mild sense of vertigo seems very real.
