About MeDonald Cameron joined the Seaforth Highlanders on October 1918 and remained in military service until April 1920 (discharged Gordon Highlanders). In that year he moved to Aberdeen where he joined the City Police. His main beat became the harbour area. Constable Cameron retired from the police September 1950 after thirty years service. Constable Cameron referred to the Defence Medal award as his "blackoot medal" (reference to wartime blackout and his duties).
