About MeThe story attached to this drawer is that it originally was one of a nest which was in the shop of John Mitchell at the Castlegate. This shop was on the Castlegate in 1796 and possibly earlier. In 1802 the Ross and Cromarty Rangers stationed in Aberdeen were out celebrating the King's Birthday. A confrontation happened between the Rangers and the local populous. Shots were fired and four people were killed. The hole in this drawer, it is said, resulted from a musket ball which was fired into the chemist and druggist shop. As late as the 1960s this nest of drawers was still in use at Simpson's Pharmacy on KIng Street.
