About MeBorn Samuel Murphy Bodie in 1869, Aberdeen, the name Walford and the title Doctor was adopted by him as his stage name. Walford Bodie was a great showman, who amazed audiences with his power of hypnotism, sleight of hand but the most spectacular part of his act was with electricity. Using static electricity he would pass what seemed to be fatal charges through volunteers and himself. Dr Bodie was a friend of Harry Houdini.
