About MeFiona Mathison graduated from Edinburgh College of Art's tapestry course in 1971 where she was a pupil of Archie Brennan's.

She, like many others served her apprenticeship at the Dovecot Tapestry Studio, and was Artistic Director of the company from 1978 to 1982. Her connections with the company continue today as artistic consultant.

This tapestry is a good representative example of her figurative style, which often combines elements, which are humorous and unexpected, if at times a little disturbing. She has created further texture by incorporating real grass into the weaving.

More About Me

It would be a rare sight nowadays to see so many bees in the one place.
