About MeJames Moore was a distinguished antiquary, amateur artist and patron of Thomas Girtin and Edward Dayes. He worked on his 'Monastic Remains and Ancient Castles of England and Wales, drawn on the spot by James Moore', which began to appear in 1792 but was never completed and it is possible that he had a Scottish publication in mind, as many of his Scottish views survive, for example at the Yale Center for British Art, New Haven, Connecticutt.
