About MeClose up showing workers inside open hull of Buffalo when it was being lengthened at Hall Russell in 1988. It has had a varied carreer and was latterly a Ro-Ro passenger/cargo vessel.

Long shot of the after section of Buffalo after being floated out from the dry dock in Leith. The ship was lengthened with the new mid-body section built in Aberdeen and towed to Leith to be inserted in the hull. The ship was cut in two and the after section floated out to allow the new mid-section in to the dock. The forward section was ballasted so that it sat on the blocks first, allowing the midsection to be floated up to it before the dock was de=watered allowing the midsection to sit on the blocks before welding to the fore section. The process was repeated to re-fit the aft section to the rest of the hull. Once it was fully welded up, the Buffalo was then towed back to Aberdeen for completion and refit activities.
