General History:
Based on the trawler STAR OF ORKNEY, built by Hall, Russell in 1936. eight vessels were built, four by Hall, Russell and four by John Lewis.
13/06/1941: Ordered.
20/11/1941: Laid Down.
15/04/1942: Launched.
08/07/1942: Full power trials in Torry Dock.
10/07/1942: Commissioned as a minelayer. Displacement 440 tons.
08/08/1947: Renamed STAR OF THE SOUTH. Registered at Aberdeen Official No. 182014. Fishing No. A 398. 274.65 g.r.t., 103.08 n.r.t.
26/01/1954: Grounded while leaving Stromness. Refloated herself on the next tide.
21/10/1958: Renamed HAVEN STAR. Registered at Milford Haven, M 144.
04/1962: Demolished at Dublin.
