General History:
BEN TORC was one of many fishing vessels built by John Lewis for Richard Irvin & Sons Aberdeen. BEN TORC was a diesel engine side trawler that fishing out R. Irvin's North Shields depot along with sister ship BEN CHOURN. BEN TORC fished for the company until 1974. She fished the North Sea and Shetland Fisheries. BEN TORC was one of the new diesels replacing the old steamers.
