12/08/1910:
News has been received at Lloyd's that an old Aberdeen trader was lost to-day about 40 miles from Shanghai. This vessel, the ASOSAN MARU, was inward bound with a cargo of Japanese coals from Japan for Shanghai, when she went ashore, and all attempts to refloat her have been with-out success. The vessel, a steel screw steamer of 1700 tons register, was built at Aberdeen in 1890 by Messrs J. Duthie, Sons, and Co., and was then named the Renown. Some years ago she was sold to Japanese owners, who re-named her.
