LAUNCH OF A TRAWLER
There was launched yesterday afternoon from the shipbuilding yard of Messrs John Duthie, Sons, and Company. Footdee, a finely modelled steam trawler, built to the order of Mr David Sherrit, trawl owner, Aberdeen. The dimensions of the vessel are - Length, 119 feet; breadth, 21 feet; and depth 11 feet 6 inches. The vessel will be fitted with triple expansion engines, and all the latest improvements for the prosecution of trawl fishing. She has a net tonnage of 180. The launch was very successful, and as the vessel left the ways, she was named the Ern by Miss Douglas Mary Sherrit, daughter of the owner, who was present accompanied by a few friends.
